Tax payments down 3.2 per cent in 2002

Distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-December, 2000-2001 and 2001-2002

Distributed taxes, January-December 2001 and 2002, by taxpayer group. Million NOK

In 2002, petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 86.6 billion. This is a reduction of 18.9 per cent compared with January to December 2001, when the petroleum taxes reached 106.7 billion. Tax payments, excluding petroleum taxes, show an increase of 1.7 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 87.5 billion, a decrease of 16.2 per cent compared with the same period last year. This may be explained by the fact that the central authorities have taken over the responsibility for all hospitals. Total tax paid to the central government amounted NOK 80.2 billion, a increase of 16.6 per cent.
