Tax payments up 6.4 per cent

In January 2003 distributed taxes amounted to NOK 44.9 billion. This is an increase of NOK 2.7 billion, or 6.4 per cent, compared with January 2002.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 10.7 billion in January 2003, a decrease of NOK 2,4 billion compared with the corresponding period last year. The reason for this may be that the central authorities now have taken over the responsibility for all hospitals.
