Tax payments increased by 3.4 per cent

Distributed taxes amounted to NOK 54.6 billion in January and February 2003. This is an increase of NOK 1.8 billion, or 3.4 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2002.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 11.5 billion in January and February 2003, a decrease of NOK 2.5 billion compared with the corresponding period last year. The reason may be that the central authorities now have the responsibility for all hospitals.
