Tax revenues up 3.4 per cent

From January to July 2003, distributed taxes totalled NOK 267 billion, an increase of NOK 8.7 billion or 3.4 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 58.2 billion from January to July 2003, an increase of 4.4 per cent compared with 2002. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 90.6 billion, an increase of 5.6 per cent.

Each county except from Oslo had an increase in distributed taxes compared with the corresponding period last year. The sum of the municipalities in Hordaland county had the largest growth - more than 12 per cent, while Oslo had a decline of 3.2 per cent.
