Tax revenues up 3.2 per cent

From January to August 2003, distributed taxes totalled NOK 268.8 billion, an increase of NOK 8.4 billion or 3.2 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 58.8 billion from January to August 2003, an increase of 4.1 per cent compared with 2002. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 91.3 billion, an increase of 5.5 per cent.

The sum of the municipalities in Hordaland county had the largest increase in tax income - approximately 10 per cent. Oslo had a decrease of 2.4 per cent compared with 2002.
