Tax payments up 3.8 per cent

From January to November 2003, distributed taxes totalled NOK 439 billion - an increase of NOK 16 billion, or 3.8 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Equalization tax paid to central government declined by NOK 3 billion and amounted to NOK 98 billion in the current period. Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 92 billion, an increase of 6.9 per cent, or NOK 6 billion, compared with 2002. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totaled NOK 139 billion up to November 2003. This is an increase of 5.7 per cent, or NOK 7 billion, compared with the same period last year.

The sum of the municipalities in Vest-Agder County had the largest increase in tax income, 9.5 per cent compared with 2002.
