Tax payments up 1.3 per cent

Distributed taxes amounted to NOK 55.3 billion in January and February 2004. This is an increase of NOK 0.7 billion, or 1.3 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2003.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 12.8 billion in January and February 2004, an increase of NOK 1.2 billion or 10.6 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year.

Contributions to the central government amounted NOK 19.1 billion, a decrease of NOK 1.0 billion or 5.1 per cent compared to January and February 2003.
