Tax revenues up 2.2 per cent

From January to Mars 2004, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 109.5 billion, an increase of NOK 2.3 billion, or 2.2 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 29.1 billion from January to Mars 2004, an increase of 5.6 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2004. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 46.6 billion, an increase of 1.6 per cent.

Each county had an increase in distributed taxes compared to last year. The municipalities in the county of Rogaland had the largest increase, 8.6 per cent compared with 2003.
