Tax revenues up 4.5 per cent

From January to August 2004 distributed taxes totalled NOK 280.7 billion, an increase of NOK 12.0 billion, or 4.5 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 61.3 billion from January to August 2004, an increase of 4.3 per cent compared with 2003. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 95.2 billion, an increase of 4.3 per cent.

The sum of the municipalities in Troms County had the largest increase in tax income, 8.0 per cent compared with the same period last year. Hordaland had a decrease of 1.4 per cent compared with 2003.
