Tax payments up 16.6 per cent

In 2005 distributed taxes totalled NOK 551 billion. This is an increase of NOK 78 billion, or 16.6 per cent compared with 2004.

More taxes from the extraction of petroleum contributed to the increase in total tax payments. In 2005 petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 165.2 billion. This is an increase of 46.7 per cent compared with 2004.

Tax payments, excluding petroleum taxes, increased by 7.2 per cent.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 153.7 billion in 2005. This is an increase of 5.4 per cent, or NOK 7.9 billion, compared with 2004. Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 102.9 billion, an increase of 5.8 per cent, or NOK 5.7 billion, compared with 2004.
