Increased tax payments in first half 2006
The first six months of 2006, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 302 billion. This is an increase of almost NOK 39 billion, or 14,7 per cent, compared with first half 2005.
The increase is mainly due to high tax income from petroleum extraction earlier this year. Petroleum taxes in first half 2006 totalled NOK 91.0 billion, an increase of 30.2 per cent compared with first half 2005. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme rose by 7.5 per cent from the corresponding period in 2005 and totalled NOK 82.1 billion. Total tax paid to central and local government amounted to NOK 72.0 billion and NOK 56.7 billion respectively. Total tax paid to central government increased by 10.4 per cent, while total tax paid to local governments increased by 9.9 per cent compared with first half 2005.
