Tax revenues up 13,4 per cent

From January to July 2006, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 352 billion. This is an increase of NOK 42 billion, or 13.4 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2005.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-July, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006

The increase of NOK 42 billion is a consequence of a NOK 20.9 billion increase in tax income from extraction of petroleum, and a NOK 20.8 billion increase in tax income from the mainland economy, excluding taxes on extraction of petroleum.

Tax on income from extraction of petroleum for the first seven months of the year amounted to NOK 90.9 billion. The greater part of this was paid in April.

Tax paid to the central government amounted to NOK 82.5 billion. This is an increase of NOK 7 billion, or 9.3 per cent, compared to the corresponding period last year. Total tax paid to local government came to NOK 69.7 billion, an increase of 9.6 per cent. Contributions to the national insurance scheme totalled NOK 107.1 billion. This is an increase of NOK 7.2 billion, or 7.2 per cent, compared with the same period in 2005.
