13.4 per cent higher tax revenues

From January to August 2006, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 354,5 billion. This is an increase of NOK 42 billion, or 13.4 per cent, compared to the corresponding period in 2005.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January-August, 2004-2005 and 2005-2006

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme rose by 7.2 per cent from the corresponding period in 2005, and totalled NOK 107.8 billion. Tax paid to the central government amounted to NOK 83.2 billion. This is an increase of 9.3 per cent compared to the corresponding period last year. Total tax paid to local government came to NOK 70.4 billion, an increase of 9.6 per cent.

The large increase in distributed taxes is mainly due to high tax income from petroleum extraction paid earlier this year.
