Increase in tax payments

From January to September 2006, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 415 billion. This is an increase of NOK 46 billion, or 12.5 per cent, compared with the corresponding period of 2005.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme increased by 7.2 per cent from the corresponding period in 2005 and totalled NOK 134 billion. Total tax paid to local government amounted NOK 89 billion, a 9.5 per cent increase.

The large increase in distributed taxes is mainly due to high tax income from petroleum extraction, paid in April.
