Tax revenue up 12.8 per cent

From January to March 2007, distributed taxes amounted to NOK 139.5 billion. This is an increase of NOK 15.9 billion, or 12.8 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2006.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January to March, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007

Total tax paid to local government came to NOK 34.9 billion. This is an increase of 7.8 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2006. Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 56.3, an increase of 8.5 per cent.

The large increase in non-personal taxpaying arrangement is mainly due to new regulations. Tax payments for this group (excl. petroleum taxes) are now made twice a year, while the payment earlier was three times a year.
