Tax payments up 12.7 per cent

From January to April 2007, distributed taxes totalled NOK 265 billion, an increase of approximately NOK 30 billion, or 12.7 per cent, compared with the same period last year. Taxes paid from extraction of petroleum increased by 5.3 per cent.

From January to April 2007, petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 95.8 billion. This is an increase of 5.3 per cent compared with the corresponding period in 2006. The payment of petroleum taxes has two terms of payment - October and April.

Tax payments, excluding petroleum taxes, show an increase of 17.3 per cent.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 58.0 billion. This is an increase of NOK 4.0 billion, or 7.5 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 38.4 billion.

The large increase in non-personal taxpaying arrangement is mainly due to new regulations. Tax payments for this group (excl. petroleum taxes) are now made twice a year, while the payment earlier was three times a year.
