Increase in tax payments

From January to May 2007, distributed taxes totalled NOK 335 billion. This is an increase of NOK 34 billion, or 11.4 per cent, compared with the same period last year.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January to May, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007

Total tax paid to central government, excluding National Insurance Scheme, amounted to approximately NOK 189 billion. This is NOK 26.5 billion, or 16.3 per cent, higher compared with the same period in 2006. Tax payment to central government excluding National Insurance Scheme and petroleum taxes increased by NOK 21.8 billion, or 30.4 per cent, and came to NOK 93.3 billion. Petroleum taxes amounted to NOK 95.7 billion. This is an increase of NOK 4.8 billion, or 5.2 per cent, compared with the corresponding period in 2006.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totaled NOK 87.1 billion. This is NOK 5.5 billion, or 6.8 per cent, higher compared with the same period last year.

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 58.6 billion.

The large increase in non-personal taxpaying arrangement is mainly due to new regulations. Tax payments for this group (excl. petroleum taxes) are now made twice a year, while the payment earlier was three times a year.
