Increase in tax revenues

In the period January to November 2007, total distributed taxes amounted to NOK 648 billion. This is an increase of 4.1 per cent compared to the same period in 2006. The majority of the increase is due to an increase in tax payments to central government.

Paid and distributed taxes by county. Change in per cent, January to November, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007

In total, tax payments to central government increased by NOK 35.7 billion, mainly through tax equalisation tax.

Payments to the National Insurance Scheme amounted to NOK 176.3 billion in the January to November period. This is an increase of 8.3 per cent, or NOK 13.5 billion compared to the same period in 2006.

Total tax payments for mainland Norway, excluding petroleum taxes, increased by 12.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. A reduction in petroleum taxes compared to 2006 means that total tax payments increased by 4.1 per cent only.
