Tax accounts, April 2008

Tax revenues to local government totalled NOK 39.3 billion. This is an increase of NOK 900 million, or 2.5 per cent, compared to the corresponding period in 2007. Tax payments to municipalities rose 2.6 per cent while tax payments to county municipalities rose 2.0 per cent compared to 2007.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 63.4 billion, an increase of NOK 5.3 billion or 9.2 per cent compared to the same period last year. Employer contributions totalled NOK 38.8 billion while employee contributions constituted NOK 24.6 billion, an increase of 11.1 per cent and 6.2 per cent respectively.
