Tax payments up 10.4 per cent

In the period January to May 2008, distributed taxes amounted to almost NOK 370 billion. This is NOK 35 billion, or 10.4 per cent, higher than in the same period in 2007.

Tax revenues for the central government increased with NOK 19.8 billion compared to 2007, amounting in total to NOK 133.1 billion. Total payments to local governments increased by NOK 4 billion or 6.8 per cent from 2007 to reach NOK 62.6 billion. Payments to the National insurance scheme also increased, by 11.3 per cent to NOK 97 billion.
