Tax accounts, July 2008

Total tax paid to local government amounted to NOK 77.6 billion. This is an increase of NOK 5 billion or 7 per cent, compared with the same period last year. NOK 64.4 billion of this amount was revenue to municipalities and NOK 13.2 billion was revenue to county municipalities, an increase of 7.1 per cent and 6.6 per cent respectively.

Contributions to the National Insurance Scheme increased with 11 per cent compared with last year and constitute NOK 127.8 billion. Member contributions and employer contributions rose by 11.2 per cent and 10.9 per cent respectively from the corresponding period last year.
