This article was corrected 24.11.2008 with updated figures for the petroleum taxes from the Continental shelf. It was also corrected 09.01.2009 with updated figures for employer and member contributions to the National Insurance Scheme. It is only the figures for these variables that have been corrected.

Due to the implementation of a new tax reporting system (SOFIE) at the Directorate of taxes, Statistics Norway has not been able to produce a table for tax revenues by type.

Some new features of the new reporting system are that the tax account statistics now also include tax revenue from Svalbard. Statistics Norway is only able to present total tax revenue for Svalbard, and cannot specify different types of taxes.

Statistics Norway has also chosen to present four new tax variables: Surtax on gross income, Community tax, Special tax on petroleum income and Ordinary income tax on petroleum revenue. These figures can be found in StatBank. As before, these figures are accumulated under the variable "Remainder" in the tables.

Due to the said changes, Statistics Norway has created a new time series for the Tax account statistics in StatBank starting from August 2008. The previous figures can be found in tables 03728 and 05284.
