Petroleum taxes decreased

From January to October, total tax payments amounted to NOK 568.8 billion. This is a decrease of NOK 39.6 billion, or 6.5 per cent, compared to the same period last year. The decrease is due to a reduction in petroleum taxes from a high level in 2008.

Total tax paid to the Continental shelf decreased by NOK 48.9 billion, or 24.6 per cent, to NOK 149.5 billion. Taxes excluding the Continental shelf totalled NOK 419.3 billion. This is a moderate growth of 2.3 per cent, or NOK 9.3 billion, compared to 2008.

7.1 per cent tax growth to municipalities

Ordinary tax paid to municipalities totalled NOK 88.4 billion; an increase of 7.1 per cent, or NOK 5.9 billion, compared to the same period last year. Tax income to county municipalities grew by 2.5 per cent, or slightly more than NOK 400 million, to NOK 17.3 billion.

Employer contributions to the National Insurance Scheme increased by 5.9 per cent to NOK 101.5 billion, while member contributions grew by 7 per cent to NOK 69.5 billion.
