Decline in total tax income

In the period January-March 2010, total tax income amounted to NOK 189.2 billion. This is a decline of 6.7 per cent or NOK 13.6 billion compared to the same period last year. The decrease is mainly due to a reduction in oil taxes of 39.6 per cent or NOK 13.9 billion.

Excluding the continental shelf, total tax payments amounted to NOK 166.9 billion. This is a slight increase of a quarter of a per cent or NOK 409.7 million compared to 2009. Payments from advance tax arrangements have shown a minor increase of 1.6 per cent, representing NOK 2.3 billion. On the contrary, the non-personal taxpaying arrangement shows a decrease of NOK 1.9 billion.

Employer contributions to the national insurance scheme also decreased, by 1.2 per cent or NOK 479 million to NOK 40.7 billion. Member contributions amounted to NOK 26.4 billion, which is an increase of 3.8 per cent or NOK 961 million compared to 2009.

NOK 40.9 billion to municipalities and county municipalities

Total tax paid to municipalities amounted to NOK 34.2 billion. This is an increase of 6.9 per cent or NOK 2.2 billion from 2009. Tax payments to county municipalities increased by 2.2 per cent to NOK 6.7 billion.
