Decline in tax revenue
In the first half of 2010, total tax payments amounted to NOK 373.6 billion. This is a decline of NOK 18.3 billion or 4.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2009, and is mainly due to a decline in oil taxes of NOK 33.4 billion or 33.4 per cent.
Tax revenue excluding the Continental shelf totalled NOK 304.8 billion, a growth of NOK 15.1 billion or 5.2 per cent compared to 2009. Employer and member contributions to the National Insurance Scheme constituted NOK 61.2 and 45.3 billion respectively, which corresponds to an increase of 0.4 and 21 per cent.
3.6 per cent more to municipalities
Ordinary taxes to municipalities totalled NOK 59 billion, an increase of NOK 2 billion or 3.6 per cent. Tax revenue to county municipalities rose by NOK 300 million or 2.7 per cent compared to the same period last year and amounted to NOK 11.5 billion.
