Increase in tax revenue
From January to September this year NOK 608 billion was paid in taxes in Norway. This is 10.3 per cent more than in the corresponding period in 2010.
Taxes paid through the advance tax arrangement account for most of the taxes paid in September. These taxes total NOK 412.8 billion from January to September this year. This is 6.4 per cent more than in the corresponding period in 2010.
Municipalities and county authorities have received NOK 109.3 billion so far this year. NOK 90.2 billion has been paid to the municipalities and NOK 19.1 billion has been paid to the county authorities.
Payments to the National Insurance Scheme total NOK 187.8 billion from January to September. NOK 79.3 billion has been paid as member contributions and NOK 108.5 billion has been paid as employer contributions.
Lower taxes to municipalities due to changes in the income systemOur figures show that a larger part of the taxes are paid to the central government and a smaller part to the municipalities. This is the result of some recent changes in the income system for the municipalities. The changes involve a lower tax rate at the municipality level and higher subsidies from the central government. |
