Increase in total tax payments
A total of NOK 753.8 billion has been paid in taxes in Norway from January to November of this year. This is an increase of NOK 89.3 billion, or 12.5 per cent from the corresponding period of 2010.
The advance tax arrangement, which includes employers’ contributions to the National Insurance Scheme, was the biggest source of income in November. So far this year it has received NOK 505.4 billion, which gives an increase of 6.6 per cent from the same period last year.
The municipalities and county authorities received a total amount of NOK 133.7 billion; NOK 110.4 billion and NOK 23.2 billion respectively. This is a decrease of NOK 2.7 billion, or 2 per cent compared to 2010.
National Insurance Scheme received increase of 7.9 per cent
The national insurance scheme has so far this year received NOK 228.3 billion. This is an increase of 7.9 per cent from the same period last year. Of the total amount, employer contributions were NOK 129.6 billion and member contributions were NOK 98.7 billion.
In November 2011, there was a large increase in ordinary taxes to the central government due to payments of underpaid taxes in the non-personal taxpaying arrangement.
Lower taxes to municipalities due to changes in the income systemOur figures show that a larger part of the taxes are paid to the central government and a smaller part to the municipalities. This is the result of some recent changes in the income system for the municipalities. The changes involve a lower tax rate at municipality level and higher subsidies from the central government. |
