Increase in tax payments

By the end of July, a total of NOK 553.6 billion had been paid in taxes in Norway. This is 6.1 per cent more than in the corresponding period of 2012.

NOK 79.4 billion was paid in taxes in July this year and this is 6.9 per cent more than in July 2012. Almost all of the taxes paid this month were paid through the advance tax arrangement. Less than half a billon was paid through the non-personal taxpaying arrangement and most of this was taxes on petroleum extraction.

A total of NOK 368.6 billion was paid through the advance tax arrangement in the first seven months of 2013. This is NOK 23.8 billion, or 6.9 per cent more than in the corresponding period of 2012. NOK 86.8 billion of this sum was tax equalization contributions and NOK 15.7 billion was ordinary taxes to the central government. Taxes to municipalities and county authorities account for NOK 77.8 billion and NOK 16.5 billion respectively. Payments to the National Insurance Scheme account for NOK 169.6 billion of the sum paid through the advance tax arrangement this year.

NOK 184.6 billion has been paid through the non-personal taxpaying arrangement so far this year. Taxes on petroleum extraction account for nearly NOK 120 billion of this sum.
