Moderate growth in tax payments

By the end of March, a total of NOK 246 billion had been received in tax payments, increasing by 2.8 per cent from the same period last year. In March alone, approximately NOK 100 billion was paid in taxes, which is 5.1 per cent more than in March 2013.

The total tax revenues are NOK 6.6 billion higher than the corresponding first quarter of 2013. In total, NOK 246.2 billion was paid in taxes from January through March 2013. NOK 181.1 billion was paid through the advance tax arrangement; an increase of 3.1 per cent compared to last year. The non-personal taxpaying arrangement has contributed with NOK 64.6 billion to the tax revenues. This is 1.5 per cent more than the corresponding quarter last year.

NOK 6 billion increase in tax revenues to the central government

The central government had received NOK 82 billion by the end of March 2014. This is an increase of approximately NOK 6 billion, or 7.8 per cent, compared to the same period last year. Most of this increase is due to tax equalization contributions to central government, which increased by 8.5 per cent from the previous year. The tax payments to local government increased by 3.1 per cent, totalling NOK 47 billion.

More to the National Insurance Scheme

The member and employer contributions to the National Insurance Scheme totalled NOK 85.9 billion by the end of March. This is NOK 3.5 billion more than the corresponding period last year. Employer contributions to the National Insurance Scheme amounted to NOK 51.2 billion and member contributions totalled NOK 34.7 billion. This represents an increase of 2.8 per cent and 6.6 per cent respectively compared to last year.
