Decrease in petroleum taxes

A total of NOK 11.3 billion was paid in taxes on the extraction of petroleum in Norway in February 2016. This is 47.9 per cent less than in February 2015.

A total of NOK 41 billion was paid trough the non-personal taxpaying arrangement, including petroleum taxes, in February. Tax equalization contributions to the central government account for NOK 26 billion of this sum. Payments through the advance tax arrangement account for less than NOK 2 billion of the taxes paid in February.

The total sum of taxes paid in January and February is NOK 126 billion. This is NOK 10 billion, or 7.5 per cent, less than in the first two months of 2015.

The payments for all taxes excluding petroleum taxes are mainly received in odd months. Income from petroleum taxes are mainly received in even months.
