Increased government revenue

The Central government fiscal account including the National Insurance Scheme, show an increase in total revenues of approximately 20 billion kroner in the third quarter 2000, compared with figures from the third quarter 1999, when the government revenues were 91 billion.

It is mainly the operating surplus from the state-owned petroleum activity that explains the increased government revenues in the third quarter 2000. The operating surplus from the state-owned petroleum activities was about 25.2 billion kroner in the third quarter 2000, compared with 10.3 billion in the corresponding quarter 1999. This is an increase of approximately 150 per cent.
