Reduced surplus from the state-owned petroleum activities contributes to the decline in government revenues. This is a decrease of approximately 38 per cent.
The government's total expenditures in the second quarter 2002 amount to NOK 140.2 billion. This is an increase of more than 9 per cent compared with the corresponding period last year. The increase is mainly due to the change in ownership of public hospitals from local to central government.
