Increase in prices of architectural services

The prices of architectural services increased by 6.2 per cent from the third quarter of 2007 to the same quarter in 2008.

Price index for architectural activities. 2005=100

From the third to the fourth quarter of 2008 the prices of architectural services increased by 1.0 per cent.

Since Statistics Norway started to publish the index in the first quarter of 1998, the prices have increased by 69.2 per cent. The complete time series is in the StatBank .

1  Data is collected from the VAT register. There is a certain time lag in the reporting to the
Tax Directorate. As a result, the turnover index and the volume index might be revised
in subsequent releases.

Important announcement: New classification being implemented shortly

As form the 1s t quarter of 2009, a new version of Norwegian industry classification (SIC2007) will be used. The classification is in accordance with the EC’s new NACE rev.2 classification. This enables comparability across borders. The price index for architectural will be published together with all the price indices in the group of business activities, which consists of sections for “Professional, Scientific and Technical activities” and “Administrative and Support service activities”.
