Road construction costs up

Road construction costs increased by 2.5 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2013.

Labour costs increased by 4.3 per cent, while material costs rose by 1.7 per cent and machinery costs remained unchanged in the same period.

From the third to the fourth quarter 2013, the road construction costs decreased by 0.9 per cent.

Road maintenance costs increased by 3.1 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2012 to the fourth quarter of 2013.
