Small changes in the construction costs

The index of residential buildings increased by 0.1 per cent in August compared with July this year. Material costs rose by 0.2 per cent in the same period.

The cost of materials for painting, paperhanging and floor coating increased most, by 0.7 per cent for both detached houses and multi-dwelling houses in August compared with July this year.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 4.9 per cent in August 2001 compared with August 2000. Material cost increased by 4.1 per cent in the same period.
