Construction costs rose by 4.1 per cent

The index of residential buildings increased by 4.1 per cent in October 2001 compared with October 2000. Material costs of construction for residential buildings rose by 4.0 per in the same period.

The index of electrical installations increased the most by 7.5 per cent for detached houses and 7.2 per cent for multi-dwelling houses in October 2001 compared with October 2000.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 0.1 per cent in October 2001 compared with September this year. The cost of plumbing increased the most last month, by 0.5 per cent for both detached houses and multi-dwelling houses.
