Construction costs unchanged

The index of residential buildings remained unchanged in November 2001 compared with the previous month. Material costs of construction for residential buildings rose by 0.1 per cent in the same period.

The cost of materials for painting, paperhanging and floor coating increased the most, by 0.5 per cent for detached houses and by 0.3 per cent for multi-dwelling houses in November 2001 compared with October this year.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 4.0 per cent in November 2001 compared with November 2000. Materials cost increased by 3.9 per cent in the same period.
