Small changes in construction costs

The index of residential buildings increased by 0.1 per cent in September compared with August this year. Material costs rose by 0.2 per cent in the same period.

The material costs of plumbing increased the most last month, by 2.5 for detached houses and by 1.9 per cent for multi-dwelling houses.

The construction costs of residential buildings rose by 3.3 per cent in September 2002 compared with September 2001. Labour costs and material costs increased by 5.0 and 2.3 per cent respectively, in the same period.
