Small changes in construction costs

The index of residential buildings decreased by 0.1 per cent in April 2003, when compared with April 2002. Material costs increased by 0.1 per cent in the same period.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood decreased by 0.4 and 0.1 per cent respectively last month.

On an annual basis, the construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 4.2 per cent, while detached houses rose by 3.3 per cent.
