Stable construction costs

The index of residential buildings remained unchanged in November compared with October 2003.

On an annual basis, the construction costs of residential buildings rose by 2.6 per cent from November last year to November this year. Material costs and labour costs increased by 2.1 and 4.0 per cent respectively in the same period.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 2.7 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 2.6 per cent.
