Construction costs up 3.2 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 3.2 per cent in June 2004 compared with June 2003. The material costs rose by 3.8 per cent in the same period.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses increased by 3.8 and 3.1 per cent respectively in June 2004 compared with June 2003. In the last month, the construction costs of detached houses has increased by 0.3 per cent, while multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.5 per cent.
