Construction costs up 3.6 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 3.6 per cent from July last year to July this year. In the same period material costs rose by 4.4 per cent.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses increased by 4.4 and 3.5 per cent respectively in the twelve months from July 2003 to July 2004. The increase was 0.4 per cent and 0.3 per cent in July this year.
