Small changes in construction costs

From April to May 2005 the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent. Wage statistics for the first quarter of 2005 are included in the building costs of May 2005. The construction cost index increased by 3.6 per cent from May 2004 to May 2005.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 4.1 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 3.5 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 6.3 and 4.2 per cent respectively in the same period.
