Slight changes in construction costs

From January to February 2006 the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.2 per cent. The construction cost index increased by 3.0 per cent from February 2005 to February 2006. Wage statistics for the fourth quarter 2006 are included in the building costs of February.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 3.4 per cent last year, while detached houses of wood increased by 2.7 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 3.0 and 2.2 per cent respectively in the same period.
