Construction costs up 0.2 per cent last month

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.2 per cent from March to April this year. The material costs rose by 0.5 per cent in the same period. The construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.3 and 0.2 per cent respectively last month.

From April 2005 to April 2006 the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 3.0 per cent, while material costs rose by 2.5 per cent in the same period.
