Strong increase in construction costs in 2006

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 5.5 per cent from December 2005 to December 2006. From November to December last year the construction costs rose by 0.2 per cent.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 5.6 per cent, while detached houses of wood increased by 5.4 per cent from December 2005 to December 2006. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 6.0 and 5.4 per cent respectively in the same period.
