Construction costs up 0.3 per cent

Overall construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent from January to February this year. The material costs increased by 0.5 per cent in the same period.

From January to February this year the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.4 and 0.2 per cent respectively.

On an annual basis, the construction costs of residential buildings rose by 6.3 per cent from February last year to February this year. Material costs rose by 7.4 per cent in the same period.

Wage statistics for the fourth quarter of 2006 are included in the construction costs index for February 2007.
