Construction cost up 7.9 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 7.9 per cent from June last year to June this year. The material costs rose by 11.3 per cent in the same period.

The construction costs of detached houses of wood increased by 9.0 per cent, while costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 6.1 per cent last year. The material costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 12.5 and 9.5 per cent respectively.

From May to June this year the construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.2 per cent, while the material costs rose by 0.4 per cent in the same period.
