Construction costs went up

The overall construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.5 per cent from July to August this year. The cost increase was the same both for detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses.

Wage statistics for the second quarter of 2007, are included in the construction cost figures for August and contribute to a labour cost increase by 0.7 per cent in August. The material cost increased by 0.2 per cent the last month.

From August last year to August this year, the overall construction costs of residential buildings increased by 7.9 per cent, while the material costs rose by 11.2 per cent in the same period.
