Construction costs up 3.9 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings decreased by 0,2 per cent from November to December last year, but were 3.9 per cent higher in December 2008 than in December 2007. The material costs rose by 3.5 per cent in the same period.

From December 2007 to December 2008, construction costs of multi-dwelling houses increased by 4.6 per cent, while the costs of detached houses of wood rose by 3.4 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood increased by 5.3 and 2.3 per cent respectively.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood decreased by 0.3 and 0.1 per cent respectively from November to December last year.
